3. Keep Up With Technology: Technology can feel like it’s going by so fast and it actually is. One minute we are using dialup to get online and now we can watch movies on our cellphones. It can get a bit overwhelming but it’s important to try and keep up. For example, if you don’t get to see your family as much as you would like, learning how to use Facetime and social media are great ways of keeping in touch with them.
4. Stay Involved: If you have the energy and want to make a difference there are plenty of worthy causes that need people’s time more than their money. People are always willing to donate money, food, clothes and other resources but their time is something they rarely have. These charities, foundations and causes need your help and it’s a great way to stay involved.
5. Try New Things: Everyone talks about being able to work on your bucket list” when you get older. The idea is actually a good one as you get the opportunity to do things you’ve always wanted to do. Write down 10 things; hobbies, places to visit, etc. and get to work.
6. Mind The Weather: Especially in Orlando, Florida we deal with a lot of crazy weather. Make sure that you are protecting yourself from the heat and the humidity. Coverup when you are out in the sun, especially during the hottest points of the day.
7. Keep Hydrated: If you were not a big water drinker throughout your life it’s understandable. But now is a good time to start. Increasing your water intake throughout the day is going to really help when it comes to your overall health.
You know your body better than anyone else. If exercising is difficult or you have to be on a specific diet, then make sure you follow the guidance of your doctor. Keeping active is a great way of improving your health but it doesn’t mean you have to overdo it either. Orlando is a great city to retire in and there are so many wonderful opportunities available.
